Important announcement

Following a strategic review that has been taking place over the past few weeks, the Trustees of the LIFT Partnership have agreed to seek a merger with another Surrey Trust. They are confident that the interests of children and staff will be better served in a larger organisation, which can bring increased security and greater professional opportunities.

We are seeking a Trust:

• which recognises the unique character of our schools, including the Teaching School
• which values the skills and experience of our staff with the creation of a centre of excellence for Special Needs education within their Trust
• which will give our staff still greater opportunities to develop further, while protecting existing terms and conditions

A group of Trustees are working to identify the best fit for us, and we are also consulting the Headteachers and Chairs of Governors.

Whilst these changes are taking place at a trust level, we will be ensuring that this is a seamless transition for our schools and for all our children, young people, families and staff. We know that our schools have been working so hard to cope with the effects of the Covid-19 crisis and we will be supporting school leaders to continue to respond to the Department for Education’s COVID guidance for schools.

I hope I can reassure you that this decision has not been taken lightly and that the Trustees will only agree to a merger when they are absolutely sure that our values and character will be safe.
