Coronavirus update March 20
Our schools will both be closing today following the Government’s advice and we will work hard to achieve this with the minimum of fuss to ensure the children are not unduly troubled by these difficult times.
We are aiming to partially re-open Linden Bridge on Monday, March 23 with a reduced programme for those pupils whose parents or carers are on the list of key workers released this week. We will not be open for everyone, but need to help families who need our support.
West Hill will be closed from Monday, March 23 to Wednesday, March 25 and we aim to re-open on Thursday, March 26 for the children of key workers. Provision will again depend on transport, catering and staff availability.
If you are a key worker and haven’t already contacted your school, then please do so because we need to manage the numbers. Places will only be offered on a priority basis and will be dependent on the appropriate transport arrangements and on any new announcements from the Government.
Linden Bridge School will provide a home-learning package of support from Monday when your child’s class teacher or residential worker will contact you to provide activities for the week. The class teacher, or teaching assistant, will be in touch daily with further ideas.
If your child is at Linden Bridge and your situation changes, and you need to access additional support, let the teacher know. We are liaising with our therapy teams as to how they can continue to provide support remotely. We will update you with further information when we have it.
Reduced learning is going to take careful planning and we are working as quickly as we can to ensure the normal level of education, safeguarding and health and safety will continue for your children.
What we can and cannot do will depend on how government guidance changes over the next few days and also on our staffing levels.
The safety of all our pupils, staff and wider community is our priority and we will keep you updated regularly, via social media, direct contact and this website.
